Hi, my lowering springs will be arriving soon and a mate of mine can fit them for me which is great as i know he is more than competent to do it. Only prob is we are both baffled as to how to get at the top mounts of the rear shocks, some of you have seen pics of my car it is a 2001 1.8 vtec-s saloon (not hatchback). We both had a quick look yesterday and just couldnt work it out, any help/ advice would be awesome thanks. ;)

Take the 2 side trims out by the rear screen on the inside.

Pull the speaker grills off

Then pull the parcel shelf carpet out. Make sure you disconnect the brake light.

You will see the top mounts in the very corners behind the seats

Thanks mate, i must look really thick now! we just couldnt work it out

No probs bud I thought the exact same when I lowered mine. Although I found the standard shocks give up after 2 years with the lowered springs so just bare in mind you may need to upgrade at some point

when i lowered my previous car it look so cool...sure it probably handled better...but the bumps...my god..i knew every road surface in town.
But i guess, its something one should try...i think its worth it.

Dale what springs did you go for mate?

I've got Eibachs on mine and the ride is brilliant!

Sorry matey only just seen this

Got Apex springs dude, 30mm drop. still havent got them fitted though and its killing me me looking at them in the box! :(

Apex have a great reputation dude, so good choice. I went for Eibachs over Apexas they were cheaper

If you don't have time to fit them yourself, take them to a local garage and they should have them fitted for you in about an hour.
