Hi Folks,

So I'm taking my inlet manifold apart currently to make getting the engine out easier, and I spotted these!

I didn't realise IABs were fitted to the 6th gen! Out of interest are they only fitted to the 2 litre, or did all 6th gens run them? Could be an area to look at when tuning the engine, the Prelude guys remove the butterfly's and then get the manifold and cylinder head port matched iirc

I now that the 1.8 engine (F18B2) also have it.

The problem of removing the butterflies is that you will loose low end torque(I guess). After all, that's why they are there, to gain some more torque in lower revs.

Yeah true that, not much to lose though if my Accord was anything to go by though :p and the point of taking them out was performance in the high revs, so it's swings and roundabouts I guess!

thats why you could take out IAB's from h22 using chipped P28... I have read somewhere (actually I have got bin for such mod) and owner of this bin claimed power near 220 bhp at high rpm

If you've got an H22 pretty sure you won't be bothered about IABs B)
