hello everybody. i bought an 05 2.2 estate a few days ago and i want to give it a service (oil and filters) now i did a bit of reading on this site and i found it very good. my question goes to any members in ireland as i would like to get the best possible parts here so if any one could tell me where to go and what to ask for it would be great. thanks very much

Hi Mate,

Im in Cavan most of my time now, and to be honest for most of my servicing parts, id get from Holdcroft Honda who are an affliliated dealership on the forums.

Contact a Mod here and ask for the forum discount code and they will deliver to ireland very quickly and I found them far cheaper for parts then local merchants. Just give them a call.

Howya
I bought the diesel full plus service kit from cox honda the other day. You get every thing u need...genuine air oil fuel pollen filter, the sump washer and the correct grade and amount if oil fir 110 pound plus an extra 15 pound for postage...not a bad deal.

Hi there - it depends on the parts you need. As I've a petrol accord I only needed the oil filter air filter and cabin filter to be genuine. We also have a Stream so I can double up on the parts. Place a bulk order for them from HH.

But for me I got the oil and sparks from a local motor factor.

Also consider you local Honda dealer as with the Exchange rate and shipping it might actually be cheaper even with the discount

Yeah thats very true, its too late now because the order has gone through and to be honest the car is new (to me) and im just delighted to be able to fit the genuine parts, but in the future I will take ur advice and try and shop around for a better deal. Im heading away next week on a long journey and I was in a hurry to get the bits and bobs so I just went with cox.

I know I was late, just said I'd add a reply. Shopping around won't save you lots, and 110 is not a bad price.

Probably too late now but I'd say Holdcroft all the time, other than that I use Judges Honda Garage here in Ballina, Mayo. Both of them are very pleasant to deal with although Holdcroft would probably have a better price :)

Honda Dealers here in Irelnad have recently reduced their prices service item,s plus the oil isn't badly priced at all. I always get my service kits from a Dublin Dealer, Gowan's Navan Road, just handier I find B)

I too use Gowans though they were expensive about 9 months ago - I must recheck
