Is it time to scrap it already?

My ABS light has come on and following the flash codes it's the high pressure switch. After chasing myself in circles on google apparently this is a common fault but the pressure switch is in the ABS mod and can't be repaired and I'd need to replace the whole modular. From Honda I can get one at about £1500!!
I've thought maybe get one from a breakers yard but then if it's broken on mine then any secondhand ones are already on their way out. Surely these cars last more than 10 years without needing £1500 spending on them?

So the question is, is it game over?? Or maybe I could just remove the ABS altogether??

bad news mate, sometimes its very frustrating indeed. Not sure what you should do really, maybe get a good second hand unit with some warranty that has been guaranteed working. I personally wouldn't pay £1500.

The ABS light MUST come on with ignition and then go off. Pulling the bulb used to be a way round this(the previous owner did this) but now it's not an option. Now I'm fully aware my ABS doesn't work, so I'm not expecting it to.
I now have an ABS light that comes on with the ignition and goes off again without replacing the modular. Like they say where there's a will and all that

Personally i'd go to breakers and get myself one of an old car.

In all honesty I would recommend to anyone else to go and get another modular, but personally I have a hatred of ABS and I've deleted it on every car I've ever owned and as soon a I can get a prop valve from a 5th Gen Accord mine will be removed altogether on this one too.

I'm ***uming that won't be a problem when it comes to MOT time as the ABS fault light won't come on, cuase the car won't know that it ever had ABS fitted? Or am i talking nonsense? :lol:

At the moment it comes on with the ignition and goes off again like its supposed to. It'll be like that until I can delete it all properly

If you have an ABS delete it shouldn't come on at all?? Although if the car came fitted with ABS as stock, is the MOT tester required to test it ie. check the light, even though the system has been intentionally removed? I'd be interested to know about an ABS delete myself, my Golf and Prelude don't have it so might as well take it off the Accord too, I've never missed ABS since not having it (touch wood!!)
