My central locking key fob is looking a little tired and I only have 1, could I buy a 2nd fob and be able to program it to the car?

Thanks in advance

Certainly! I did it a few months ago; I bought a second-hand key fob on ebay (around £10) and then programmed it using the instructions on the forum. However, you need to look at the sticker on your existing fob (or open it up and look at the serial number on the circuit board) to make sure that you get the right one (I didn't first time around). With the right fob and the instructions on the forum it takes about two minutes to reprogramme your new fob.

There is replacement shell for key fob...

I bought some time ago and I'm very satisfied with it as it looks like new, you need just put your old scheme in it. If you buy such, don't threw out your old key fob, because of serial number, have it in case you loose anything

Thanks Linas, yes I was going to get a replacement case for my current fob aswell, as although the fob still works great, it looks very worn and rough, the symbols are completley worn off the rubber buttons and quite a few times ive popped the boot trying to open the car

I bought a replacement fob shell a couple of years ago. I had to fold up a small piece of paper and put it in the shell to keep the insides tight and it's been fine. Great for £5 or so.
