looking for a guide for front shocks

Hi was hoping some one here could help me.im pretty sure 1 or my front shocks is leaking and also the suspension is making some clunking noises. The shocks are a job ive never attempted on a car . Was wondering if anyone has a handy guide . Or is this best left to a garage and what is an average price for this.

Do you have a spring compressor? I've not done shocks myself but its the one job I fear, compressing the springs as the Honda ones are tall and narrow therefore apparently more difficult/dangerous

Would be good to hear if anyone has use a rod type or clamshell type compressor in the past.

I've done the front (and rear) shocks on a number of Accords at this stage and used spring compressors that I got from Halfords. Pretty straight-forward, you just need to make sure that the grip on the spring is solid.

That's them! Plenty if length on them. Also if you're doing the Accord you'll need to position the compressor grips two spring coil lengths away from the top
