Hi everyone!, is it normal for turbo to be loud when cold engine? What can it be? thank you
 
Hi Ramzis,

Yes it's quite normal, as long as it quietens when warm and it's a whistle rather than a whining type of sound.

Also ensure you are running the correct oil (0w/30 fully synthetic).

Mine alway 'whistles' at about 1500 rpm on light throttle when cold.
this noise eases as the oil becomes warmer and the turbo is up to temperature.
 
Didn't you change the turbo Adam, I remember your posting a video where the turbo was howling on cold start, or was that not you ?

Oh that's good then, yes it is quiet whet warm just dump valve sounds, about oil: is it recommended 0w/30? i was using half synt, will try it now, cheers

i watched your videos, mine does it same as per second video, so turbo is worn out or what?
 
my videos are of a turbo thats done 120k. i think its healthy :)

Please ONLY use 0w/30 oil, it has to be fully sythetic too!

You talk about dump valve noise?
the accord does not have a dump valve, diesels dont need them
 
Change your oil and watch the noise get much better (or listen even).
