Hi All,

I've a 2004 Exec and have recently noticed that the low beam seems to be pointing too far to the near-side and wanted to know how it can be adjusted. The pitch seems fine especially as that can be adjusted from inside the car. I've a HID's fitted just so you know the full picture.

Any help will be more than welcome.

Cheers.

I have exactly the same issue with my 04 cdti with home fitted hid's, I was paranoid that it would fail its mot this year as the alignment seems to be off.

I got my friendly local mechanic to take a look and he thought the headlamp motor had give up the goose and he could look into it further but could cost 150 squid plus for the motor itself.

In the end I manually adjusted it by turning a screw on the headlamp, that has raised markings to adjust it as far as i could and angled the hid's as far down as i could with the internal controls.

And it passed the MOT without any issues, I keep meaning to do some further investigation as its still not quite right.

I'll be keeping an eye on this thread as any new info will be quite valuable.

Can you tell me where the screw you adjusted is as I'd like to try it out? As for MOT, mine has never failed, it must be my crazy mind playing tricks on me! lol

Just go to an MOT centre and get your lights adjusted. Or burk around making things worse.

For a tenner max it will be far less stressful.

Yep good plan by Neal and if they are wrongly set they will fail the MOT anyway.

The headlights are the correct height, but the test don't measure the pan, ie, how far left or right the beam is. I think its pointing too far to the off-side and want it changed a little.

it may helps

Brodziu I think your right. I just found this (http://www.tsxclub.com/forums/1st-gen-car-care/14887-headlight-beam-positioning-adjustment-cl9-cl7.html) which backs up your suggestion. Just above the lights on the plastic cover which runs the length of the front panel there is a L & R marker stamped onto it. That indicates which direction to turn the nut to pan Left or Right. I've tried it and it works1

Cheers mate.
