Low mpg

2008 2.2 ictdi, For the last month my mpg has been dropping. It was overdue a service so I put it down to that. But since doing the service, oil, oil filter and air filter it is still dropping.

Driving conservatively I was getting 55ish mpg and driving it on it would drop to the mid 40s, now I'm struggling to get low 40s babying it.

I have a sticking driver front caliper but that's been like it long before the mpg problems. What else can I look at for a fix?

I'd sort the brakes first then re-evaluate, the binding may have gotten worserer and even spread to other calipers.

Yeah I may get around to it, was thinking about putting on atr twin pots on while I'm at it.

Are you putting on weight ?

Have you got a wife (that is putting on weight) ?

I've been and picked up 500kg of coal for my multi fuel burner (no central heating, doh!) and no significant drop in mpg.
Did look scarily cool on the back end.
Brakes was the problem for my low mpg, took me ages to sort, ended up with new brake fluid and two new rear calipers.
