Hi all, I'm having some trouble adjusting my offside headlight. The beam is currently point too far down. Naturally I lifted the bonnet to manually adjust and can clearly see how to do so by using a Phillips screw driver to adjust beam up or down. I can feel some movement when turning the gear with the the screwdriver but the headlight position will not adjust either up or down...I even tried doing it in the dark 10 feet from a wall to check if the position had changed.
Just FYI my levelling motor is in the normal position and does not change headlight position when moved.
Any help appreciated.

there are a few threads on here about this, some with good pics, there is up/down adjustment and left/right adjustment

IIRC it shouldn't take a lot of turning of the screwdriver to move up and down

btw, as you have a Tourer, you can check if the motors are working by opening the tailgate 10 feet from the wall again, and getting a couple of people to sit on the back. If the motors are frozen then that's a different problem anyway.

It is also a possible the bulb has been put in upside down or isnt seated properly in the holes.

When your adjusting the headlight if you get your head down at the side of the light you can see it move up and down. The only thing that improved my headlights was ring h1 ultra xenon look bulbs. Ive heard night breakers are good aswell.

Yea mine does to but it also has manual adjust for level and side to side.

the factory fitted HID's have auto-leveling motors, and they also have manual adjusters on the lamp units, the OP is having issues on the manual adjuster on one side, there's a good thread on here somewhere with good pics

I've been ***uming auto-leveling, but I may be wrong in ***uming auto-leveling

the OP says "my leveling motor is in the normal position and does not change headlight position when moved" , and now I think about it, that does not imply auto-leveling, so if it is factory fitted motor leveling by rotary switch then it's not HIDs

but it does sound like the headlamp is stuck

good video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAE2ZUMHhOQ

That video is the same as mine you can see the lens move from the side you can also take the cover of the motor by unclipping the 5 or 6 tabs and gentle moving it with your fingers to see if its turning or seized.

Hi all,
Im sorry for not responding to any posts until now. So the headlight is still low, I have check the leveller motor and its is not working. I have manually adjusted the levelling gear to the maximum up position and it has moved but not by much.
Could the bulb be incorrect?..Halfords swapped like for like.

It is possible they have installed them upside down or they are not seated correctly. There is a guide on here to show you which way up they should be and I believe it is in your handbook.
