So this is it, the first Honda I have owned. Bought it about 6 weeks ago from a fella in Carlisle for the princley sum of £450, bought it primarily to teach the mrs and get her passed her test so she can go on and use her liclece to gain the better employment she wants, but I think I'll be keeping it on the road as long as I can. Due it's MOT next month, so it's booked in next week at a friends garage for an MOT to see whats needed for March.

Things I know:

ABS light on
needs n/s front bearing
valve clearance issue
rear calliper for handbrake siezed
loss of power between 1.5k and 2.5k revs (throttle pressure sensor perhaps)

You will probably have to spend a bit on it, but once it is sorted, you will have a very reliable car. I have had two now, one cost me £500, my present one £600.

They are a bargain. Both of mine had no issues and passed MOT first time.

MOT is due end of march, so I took it for a pre MOT MOT earlier this week, as i thought it would, it failed

Brakes failures: RBT Park Brake Efficiency: 1%

Anti-lock braking system warning lamp indicates an ABS fault
N/S front ABS wiring excessively damaged
O/S front position lamp(s) not working
(rear joint) Exhaust has a major leak of exhaust fumes
Exhaust missions lambada reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits
O/S rear anti-roll bar has excessive play in a pin/bush
O/S steering rack gaiter split

Probably not too bad. 1) The anti roll bar, drop links and bushes is not expensive, did mine recently 2) The handbrake efficiency is never brilliant on these cars - suggest new rear pads and disks and adjust the cable 3) Get a new exhaust system - will probably fix the emissions problem 4) Lamp is probably a bulb. The only bad one is the abs system and wiring. So gets some bits off ebay and get to work or take it to your friendly back street garage.
