Mirror mystery

Went to reverse into a space in a busy city street earlier and discovered my dipping nearside door mirror has stopped dipping. It's one of the most useful gizmos on the car!
The mirrors fold and unfold and adjust electrically as normal, it's just the nearside dip in reverse that doesn't.
Any ideas anyone before I pester the dealer?

Doesnt it just depend on which side you have the switch on to adjust the mirrors .. Central no dip .. Left - left will dip in reverse etc

How embarrassing. Just tried it and, sure enough, it works when the switch is set to the right. Only works on the right though - it's a lhd drive car. In 16 months and 20k miles I'd never noticed. Oops...

Haha, another minor new car problem solved.

I was sure I remembered seeing the LHS mirror dip during my test drive, but haven't been able to replicate, until now. After fine tuning the glass position once I'd collected the car I left the switch in the middle (as you do) and put the mirror dip down to my imagination.
