MOT fail on rust

I bought a lovely car off my mate, runs great sadly the car failed MOT on rust on the front subframe nearside and offside rust.

any idea where to get a subframe from?

Is it better just to scrap it?

The engine box interior even the SAT nav works

From an economic point of view, you might make more scrapping it and selling the parts.

Can the subframe be welded or plated up?

Other than that google Honda breakers, Dewsbury auto salvage specialise in Honda in Manchester.

Big job though, engine out I expect.

I would expect that once you begin to take the sub frame off then you will get into a whole host of other rust problems. As Rich said might be better to scrap and move on.

Depends how handy you are with the spanners?

I'm sure you can get a sub frame from a breakers which will be in decent condition

What a shame as it drives great ( I live on a farm ) and the ac is superb, everything works

Will try to put it through another MOT hopefully a more sympathetic tester.

keep the dogs in it, they'll like the ac in the summer
