Hi,

Have been ***essed by above via my insurer. Best solution is to replace windscreen for my accord. I asked for Dealer emblazoned HONDA windscreen which was ruled out by insurance compnay saying any car 3 yrs old they own replace it to dealers. After speaking to the customer service of National windscreen they advise for Pilkington or Saint Gobain.

Are these good quality windscreens? Is National windscreen is worthy for this?

Any personal experience?

Many Thanks

I had my windscreen replaced by Auto glass through my insurance company, it was not a Honda part, but it had the auto switching gear for wipers, and the rear view mirror fitted the same, I have a bill somewhere £680, I had to find £60, and guess what it kept the rain and wind out!! LOL .

Pilkington glass is what is fitted as standard to BMW 7 series vehicles, not sure about St Gobain, but both will have to display the BS kitemark or CE kitemark at least.

That is what auto glass charged my insurance man, I paid £60 excess..

Apologies tendered did not mean to be Sarky, but go with the insurance man, if you have windscreen cover your policy will have a W AND A FIGURE IN THE TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER of the document. I can appreciate your reluctance but these glass fitters are well trained and know what they are doing. I would advise you have it replaced at their depot though rather than on your driveway, all the gear will be there. so any hang ups can be dealt with. Even if your Honda dealers took in the job my betting is that they will employ an outside specialist firm like Auto glass, or National.

I doubt Honda make windscreens. They'd buy them in from a manufacturer.

Thanks a lot John. Yes i did some research and it came to conclusion that Honda don't manufacture Windscreens. they use one of the OM manufacturers i.e Pilkington, saint Goban etc and then emblazoned it with Honda stencil to mark it as Honda ***urity.

Well such a huge thanks to all of you for your valued experience sharing. going to day afternoon in Aylesbury for replacement.

Will share more after wards. :D

Once again many thanks
