Evening folks I'm picking up my 2003 type s tomorrow and it doesn't have the nav option. I've looked around at swapping the head unit for a nav one but my thoughts are if I'm spending money and time I wouldn't really want a 12 year old sat nav. I've looked at the usual dvd/sat nav options available on eBay, had anyone got any experience with them?
Or any alternatives where I can gain satnav not necessarily dvd but at least Bluetooth and audio streaming (via Bluetooth or aux lead)

Thanks guys

You will probably have to fit in place of the storage hole above the ashtray. The standard unit also controls/displays info for A/C and temp/fan controls etc.
A lot of people seem to fit them as a second head unit and take the speaker connections etc from the standard unit.
Looks like a pain in the a"" to me

I have seen a couple of units on flea-bay from China that seem to replace the whole lot but personally wouldn't trust fitting them they look a bit, well....s@@t

I know I always like the standard look and would like to keep the storage.
I agree the Chinese ones look terrible, god knows why they don't make them look standard they would sell a lot more!

My ICE Thread details on fascia kit & allsorts.

Double Din 7" Touch Screen Sat-Nav. Bluetooth, iPod/iPhone etc

There are some stock location Head unit replacements available but they look awful, the only option for me was to use the section lower down in the dash, you can disconnect & then splice the speaker connections in (using heat shrink or bullet connectors etc).

In my 2006 I had Front speakers, Rear Door speakers plus 6x9's on the rear shelf, so if you have the same you can run all but you will need to run a small 2 channel amplifier to one of the rear sets, if not disconnect one set of the rears.

As for China sourced all in ones I really wouldn't bother, everyone I have ever known that has used them or a RIPSPEED one from Hellfrauds has ended up regretting it at a later date. It is of course your money so you take your choice.
