Hello, just a word to the wise, when choosing an oil for your car i would strongly recommend speaking to someone with the exact same model as yourself and finding out how it performed. I have just flushed the old oil, installed genuine honda filter (which someone put on with still-sons!) replaced crush washer and added Mobile 2000 10/40 semi-synthetic from Halfords £23. And now it sounds like a smoker!! Two hours on my back under the car in winter!! To say am not happy is an understatement! It sounded so much better with the old oil.

Yep ,when you flush the old oil out there is no oil left to take up the clearances, hence the rattles. should quieten down though .

To be honest I would not recomend engine flush at all

Have to agree with the others. There was a thread on here a little while ago about flushing.

Can i just ask why you've gone for semi instead of fully synthetic? Not a dig dude, just a general wondering.

I used semi as a lot of people have recommended it on here plus it was on offer and budget was tight, its coming out next week and wont be flushing this time! Do you reckon its done any lasting damage and will putting a better oil in quiet things down?

Geoff.. not having a go or 'owt, but there should be no such things budget on two things - tyres and oil. two of the biggest motoring false economies there is. With a Petrol, you are better of not doing anything than you are trying to keep costs down with materials.

Fingers crossed for the future B)

Cheers Dan, but i thought Mobile 2000 was a decent brand and it was reduced to half price so i thought go for it. Going to put Castrol fully synth in next week and see what happens. Cheers.

There won't be any lasting damage as far as the oil is concerned dude. And the flush shouldn't reaelly have hurt it either. Once fully synth goes in then i think that it'll all be fine and dandy.

Nice one mate! Cheers for reply

how many cost engine flushing? and how many cost oil for engine? isn't better change engine oil more frequently(or a better quality oil) than spend money on flushing (like spend money in the wind)?

p.s.(closer to the topic) This week I'm gonna change oil from semi-synthetic to fully synthetic...I hope that engine will run more silently... now it work almost like a diesel while cold
