I've had the car for about a month now and I've notice a clunk sound when you take you foot off the clutch pedal.

The sound is a soft 'tonk' noise every time you take your foot off, just as the pedal has fully returned and just before lifting your foot off.

Its more of an annoyance that a problem.

Any solutions/advice?

It's a problem that also effects the 7th gen as well.
Get some silicon grease spray and spray where the back of the pedal goes towards the engine. Its like a piston that pushes in and you Will need the straw connection on the spray to get in there.
Only use a silicon based grease and nether use WD40

You can follow this guild but I found silicon spray easier

Your welcome mate.I brought the spray from holfords for about £3.99.Its a bit fiddly on the 8th gen but worked a treat on mine.

Hi,
I agree with post no.2 above.
Just make sure that squirt goes on the "piston like rod" and then pump a few times.
Mine used to creak, but following using silicon spray it is now fine.
No re-occurrence in the last 6 months or so.
Cheers.
