honda accord ictdi
my new honda accord ctdi estate is proving very hard to start in the morning.
the battery runs and runs, but will not start....jump it from the wifes car and it starts straight away, then it will start ok all day as long as you dont leave it more than 3 hours or so and then ur back to jump starting again
this morning , i just put the jump leads on, started wifes car, and then tried starting the accord and...it started 1st time..straight away..so i thought ..battery... took it to my garage who told me the battery was fine, with no problems.. anybody any ideas..
many thanks .. kev :(

done it ... they fine.... i freind of mine who knows alot about diesels comming to see it tomorrow.. ill let u know what he says..

If it's starts on jump Leads then rule out the simple things. It takes a fair swing to get a diesel going so the starter needs to be in good condition and the battery tip top. Engine needs to see a certain rpm before it will inject fuel, don't know for Honda but usually 300rpm

You need to carry out a drop/load test on the battery. Not sure if the garage did this or just checked voltage, which won't tell you much.

Keep us posted.
