Just a quickie,

Anyone got a cheap eBay fault code reader? Are they any good? Is there a particular one to buy for the 7th Gen? Does it have a generic socket?

I'm not looking for dealer level diagnostics here just want to be able to read and wipe codes!

I got this
Look at this on eBay:

ELM327 WiFi/WLAN CANBUS OBD OBD2 Interface Car Diagnostic Scanner iPhone iPad UK

http://bit.ly/16pKNJy

Work perfectly with dashcommand from App Store

Not sure of the seller, but I've got this one... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2013-D900-Live-PCM-Data-CAN-BUS-OBD2-Engine-Fault-Diagnostic-Code-Reader-Scanner-/171084992622?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item27d575d06e#ht_3573wt_876 - seems to work on a wide variety of vehicles.

Your Accord has a generic OBDII socket. It's under the dash, near the bonnet release.

Works great with the iPhone but real time is about 2 seconds slower than the actual read out.
I haven't tried on any fault codes as yet though

I ordered this one ... still waiting for it to arrive :/

Maybe it's not the most accurate device but for £14.50 it works perfect reading codes and clearing them fine

Agree with delay of 2 sec but still good in my opinion

can the item in the link above work with androids phones/tablets, too?
if i make VPN from the android tablet then this OBD scanner will be seen?
what is on the cd? the driver for win/mac?
how is working on iphone/ipad without the cd?
cheers

Not sure if it will work with android ,
Litle scaner that you plug in to obd2 port makes its own wifi , all you do is just connections your phone table to this wifi and you ready to open you chosen app ( dash commad work best with this cheep one)

You sould be able to connect your androind phone to same wifi but not sure if app for android will accept this - for android you can get same scaner but bluetuch - I sold my old Bluetooth scanner couple of days ago for £10 - look on eBay and as long you get one from uk, it will be easy to returns if it's not working , you will be fine but for android get Bluetooth and app torque bhp ( I used this before and it worked great)

bend are you telling me that this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ELM327-WiFi-WLAN-CANBUS-OBD-OBD2-Interface-Car-Diagnostic-Scanner-iPhone-iPad-UK-/181183744067?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item2a2f648843 it's making his own wifi network?
so the cd is the software for the win/mac?
did you tried this one to connect to an android phone tablet and then to use the dash command app, to see if it works?
maybe a enquiry about working with an android phone/tablet and dash command app to see the seller if it works so that we can buy? if more can send this question to the seller to test this so he can update his selling by letting the buyers to know if it works or not!
cheers

I dont have android Device to test it .
Yes this will generate it's own wifi network to connect with you apple device

Try something like this for androind http://bit.ly/1ayc0A9

Dash command app is available only for apple devices as far I am aware so will not be possible to download it on your device

Tourqebhp is for android just look it up in google play store

If you have an Android you might want this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HHOBD-Torque-Android-Bluetooth-OBD2-Check-Engine-Auto-Code-Reader-Adapter-OBDII-/150770268644?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item231a9bb9e4

bendzior please maybe you find someone with android tablet/phone to test it, because dash command app it's available on android ,too...
please...it's only take 10 min to test it
look https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.palmerperformance.DashCommand&hl=en_GB
cheers

LE: thanks, also both items do the same thing or which one is the best?

A lot of members have that on another motor forum I frequent, mostly because it's cheap. I don't think it gives real-time data.

I have a bluetooth obd2 tool from ebay and use this on my Android phone My link

I have used it for fault codes, not done too much with the real time readout though.

harvey how fast responds to the given command? it's fast, slow, it's showing wrong information?
have you tried the mpg function? is it accurate? it's correct? in real-time?

I'll have a quick play when I go and pick the wife up in a bit and get back to you.
