Oil capacity

Sorry guys Im sure its been asked before.
My Manual says what the oil capacity is in quarts - i take it that this is US quarts.
Basically I have 5L of oil and am getting it changed (with MOT) Will I have leftover oil.
I want to ask the garage if I can have the remainder for topups (then I can see that they have put in the Mobil1 im giving them!)

Which engine is it?
Mine is a 1.8 and when I do the oil t I and the filter, get with almost one liter.

Yeah, you will have about a litre left over. I think it takes about 3.5 litres with the oil filter to reach the min mark on the dipstick.

Why dont you just keep an eye on the dip stick i know that sounds stupid but it saves you messing about trying to find out mate just slap in about 3L then watch it from there

F18B2, F18B3, F20B6 engines:

4.1 ltr (4.3 US qt, 3.6 Imp qt) at oil change.
4.4 ltr (4.6 US qt, 3.9 Imp qt) at oil change, including filter.
5.7 ltr (6.0 US qt, 5.0 Imp qt) after engine overhaul.

Obviously....it depends how well drained it is, so always check with the dipstick before filling bang on those figures. Also depending how the car is sitting on the camber of the road can give you false readings on the dipstick as the oil in the sump slews to one side or other.
