Painting rocker cover

Hi,

Have we have to change the gaskets if we take the rocker cover to paint?
Is just take out, paint and put it back and use the old gasket or the gasket must be new? is there any sealant (silicon) need?

Usually when removing something like that it is best to change the gasket, i always like to change them if they're not too expensive.

Danny i would also recommend you replace the gasket as there not expensive at all.
Just make sure you clean all the old gasket off and torque down at the correct setting.

It's good practice to change it but I don't see why you can't inspect and reinstall if it's good condition. You will want to use a small amount of rtv sealant where the chain cover joins the head, tiny pea sized amount on the join removing old sealant first.
