I noticed this yesterday on the belt. Think I'm going to change it and I've read the guide for the diesel one and it using a shorter belt but does this apply to the K24?

Not for the petrol. Replaced mine about a month ago for the same reason. What milage are you on ? Remember to use the photo technique if your doing it yourself so you have a visual of the belt routing once it's off ;)

I've done a DIY on my K24. The Gates equivalent belt is listed there too.

what mileage has the car?
i have replaced mine at 81k because the sign from the tensioner it was to the front of the car which indicated a belt wear.

Car has 98k miles and I don't think the belt has been replaced. I have ordered a new one from HH as I was buying some other bits.

Well HH never sent me my belt or billed me for it! They gave me a price on the phone and I said I'd have it but it never came with my other parts. I'm going to check with them first make sure it's not been ordered but I'll get the gates one, they probably make them for Honda anyway although they do seem to be the ones to use if not buying from a dealer.

This looks to be the same one in the guide above - http://www.doctorcarparts.co.uk/7pk1750-alternator-fan-belt-honda-accord-mk7-288584-prd1.htm

usually not but if your the sign is behind on your tensioner yes...take a look at your honda book

I've done more than a few at this stage and not done a tensioner yet. If the new belt holds with no squealing/grinding I'd leave the tensioner alone.

Generally not - unless the pump is making a noise or there's a cooling problem. What mileage?

Ok the mileage is a little "high" - you could change it. Although, again, if it's not giving issues (squealing noise, etc) then I wouldn't bother. With the drive belt off, check that it turned freely with no squeaking or roughness, etc. Check for any leaks around the area, if all is good leave alone

At 141k miles, I ***ume you've had a coolant flush as this is due at 125K miles or 10 years - whichever comes first.

I ordered a Gates belt from this place and it was just under £13 delivered via courier - http://www.mister-auto.co.uk/en/drive-belt/gates-7pk1750_g305_a0337PK1750.html

Bargain compared to what Honda want!

Just need some nice weather to fit it now.

Aye, I need two shocks for the front of our stream and OE is twice the price of aftermarket.
