Just had a friend ask me for some advice on his Honda accord. He has the same car as me, 2.2 diesel, 2006 model. He has found that the power steering pipe, one going from the power steering pump to the the steering rack is leaking. Holdcroft have quoted £255 for a new one but he has managed to get a refurbished one locally for £70. The mechanic is having difficulty fitting it in though as he says it has a poor design. Has anyone else had a similar problem and what have you found to be the best solution?

Oops - sounds like the one I've just bought. I'm due to get mine fitted tomorrow. I'll let you know how I get on.

Mine is now fitted and it wasn't a problem to fit - however. It was missing a bracket and rubber fitting which had to be taken off the old pressure pipe. The actual fittings were fine. It was a new pipe, with warranty for £70.00

As you can see if you compare to the existing pipe, there's some parts missing from around the centre of the pipe, which will need to be removed from the old pipe and fitted to the new one. Aside from that, its a perfect fit. Also drained the existing power steering fluid and filled with Honda PS fluid.

Thank you for your help. I also came across Pirtek who are a specialist company. When I called them they said they might be able to replace or fix the pipe for maybe around £40-£50. I will try them first and if no joy will use the seller from ebay.
