Lings Honda

Anyone know where i can get one, find out the specs of it or the part code?

This might not be in the correct subforum. Please move to DIY if required

Honda would be obvious, but TBH, I just got a 2nd hand pump complete from the breakers and done a swap (cost 30 quid)

I did strip apart the original PSP and getting the bearing out was a bit of a pain. By the time it's all done, the swap was easier.

Yeah that was my next port of call if I couldn't find anything. But I like making things hard for myself :p

Anyways, I found everything I need. Details below.

Part no: 56123-RMA-G01
Bearing specs (if you dont want to fork out 10x more than you have to): NTN Bearings
You can buy an SKF bearing on Amazon: here
Also a youtube vid from someone overhauling a PSP on a 2002 Odyssey (same part): here

Thanks i think in my case i hear a mix of rattling and some sort of chain noise.... It comes from right side of the engine. Now my hypothesis suggests:

PSP bearing gone
Alternator bearing gone ( Did short version without alternator change as my alternator was already changes 40k earlier)
Water pump making noise?
Rattling chain

However this noise if more prominent on idle or low speed. On acceleration it fades.....

Car has done 103k and a very good service history with 0w30 oil used.

any suggestions? you reckon it could be steering pump?

From your description I would say that there's nothing mechanically wrong with your car. How long have you heard this noise? Was it always there? These engines always have a more pronounced rattle and whine noise compared with other tdi engines, especially with higher miles. So it might just be a normal sound.

My problem is that the upper pulley screeches loudly, so loud you could hear it from down the street. However it comes and goes so its mostly a problem I can live with for the time being.

But to be sure it is worth checking crankshaft pulley etc. It cost you nothing so try ;)
