Does anyone know the RMS output per channel of the Premium Sound System amp?

From searching on here my understanding so far is that it takes the four channel output from the HU, converts it into 8 channels (front tweeters, front door woofers, rear door woofers, parcel shelf 'sub' 6x9s) using it's own internal crossover to apply the correct frequencies per channel, highs to tweeters, lows to 'sub', etc. Quite a clever bit of kit for something do small - so why, oh why did Honda hamstring it with ***** speakers all round!

As you may well have deduced, I'm looking at upgrading them and wanted to match the output to input RMS as best I can. I see that the 6x9s have 20rms on them so I'm thinking it's probably near the 15-17 mark like most aftermarket HUs but just wondered if anyone knew for sure?

Post was only meant to be a one or two liner, so thanks if you stayed with me!!

You'll laught at this but the reason why its so small is because its about 12w @4ohms per channel.
I wouldn't upgrade the speakers on the original amp tbh, though some have upgraded the 6x9 and report a improvement. Depends what you want from it, if your going to the trouble of replacing all speakers, its worth amping them seperately aswell imo.

You are right... ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!

Seriously, that is pathetic.

Well, as was thinking about...

1.) Upgrading the fronts with a low rms set of components - Pioneer's TSA171Ci is only rated at 50rms and are rumoured to work very well off of just HU power.
2.) Routing the rear door speakers to the 6x9s and again upgrade to low rms stock replacements.
3.) Use the stock 6x9 output to feed a RCA converter connected to an active sub.

Sounds like options 1 & 2 are non-starters then...thanks Honda!

...and thanks for the info.
