Hi,
I have been going through all the clutch posts as my clutch is on it's way out, but have been told it is now £850 to replace by Honda Milton keynes.
So, I am looking to use a local garage I have used for years and get a clutch to them to use, thinking either to contact holdcroft Honda or getting the luk clutch from eurocarparts as it is £138 at the moment Luk clutch, the Honda one being around 220 from mk honda.
Basically I am after your opinion on whether I should stick to the honda clutch or go for the luk as no one seems to have given a solid opinion on this.
Also, I was looking at their brake disks, pads and air/pollen filters. Any views on these?

Thanks

I've just had my clutch replaced about 2months ago done 9k don't no which clutch was fitted done by independent but on invoice cost was about £137 people keep mentioning need special tool which is a lineament tool.so not so special.

+1

I'm pretty sure that LUK make the Honda clutch ***emblies... they also make the dual mass flywheel (DMF) that you might also need to have replaced. The '325' is stronger, but not as strong as an aftermarket uprated CG Motorsport clutch which has been available for a while and now includes an SMF option - see the civinfo/CG Motorsport sub-forum... http://www.civinfo.com/forum/cg-motorsport/ although that is the Honda Civic forum we share the same engine/clutch and they are a little ahead of us in regard to trials, etc, of the new clutches. Maybe think about having a CG clutch if you might consider having a performance remap? If so, then TA co-founder F6had (Fahad) is the guy to contact for any re-mapping (several options available, e.g. stage 1 / 2 / EGR delete)

I always buy decent quality disks/pads/filters from wherever is cheapest (often ECP, when discounted) BUT do make sure you get an OEM fuel filter (e.g. made by Bosch, for your car) as non-standard ones have led to many problems in the past!!! Because of this, many members will only buy these from Honda (but they are available cheaper elsewhere).

That is very impressive Dave!!! Did they simply replace the pressure plate?

Thanks for the feedback guys, that was all useful info.
I am not too worried about doing a remap, but feel more confident now about using an independent. Just got quoted around 400 for just a clutch replacement or 900 if a dmf was needed aswell so I may well go for that. Sure beats the 850/1500 for the local honda garage.
Thanks again and happy new year to all.

Jon just been updating my books and invoice says clutch kit £169 I presume that's with pressure plate but to be honest no idea ??
Dual mass flywheel £458 and £29.57 for top suspension arm with labour of £360 came to £1016.57
