Accord 7, 2.4, 190HP
Dear friends,

I recently became a member of the Honda owners' group, but this is quickly turning into an extremely unpleasant experience for me. I recently bought a 7th-generation Accord, which started to make me doubt its much-praised reliability from day one. I have already repaired quite a few things on it, but a new problem has now appeared with the starter.

The car is a 2007 Honda Accord 7th generation, 2.4 petrol, 190 HP, automatic. At first glance, everything seemed fine, but soon it started failing to start, and the starter began spinning in vain. The bendix does not engage, and the car won't start.

In my country, which is mostly populated by idiots—one of whom is clearly me—no one can tell me exactly what starter I need to buy to replace my defective one. My request is for someone to point me to a starter that is compatible with my miserable car so that I can start searching for, acquiring, and replacing it!

And I won’t lie to you—this will be my last encounter with this brand and model.

Thanks in advance!

31200-RBB-004 seems to be the correct one.
Thank you!
I found the same part number. My question is: Has anyone replaced the starter on such a car with one that has an external solenoid? The reason I ask is that a heater pipe runs above the starter, and the space is quite limited. Would a starter with an external solenoid, such as the DENSO DSN1406, fit? I can't find a better option, as the offerings on our market are mainly Chinese and Polish junk.

My second question is: The DENSO DSN1406 is 1kW, while the original Mitsuba SM-71004 is 1.2kW. Will the power of the DENSO DSN1406 be sufficient to crank the engine confidently?

Thank you!
