Hi All

This may be a naive or silly question, but has any member used this product after an oil change?

I will be using the BG 109 come the oil change date, and the engine will be re-filled with 0W/30.

I am unsure if it's a belt and braces approach, or if the BG DOC product would enhance protection.

Could the new oil become thinner/become contaminated/lose original protection?

Your thoughts?

Thanks

it must be good, after all, it does say ...
"BG DOC for diesel engine oil is a revolutionary product designed especially for today’s modern high-output diesel engines. DOC maintains like-new diesel engine power and performance, neutralises acids and acid corrosion, reduces friction and wear on engine parts, stabilizes viscosity, prevents sludge through increased oxidation and soot control."
Mind you, the polls suggested a hung parliament.

Tbh with a good quality oil there is no need for oil additives. These can do more harm than good.

Hi

Thanks for all your comments - constructive and otherwise LOL.

I telephoned the UK based BG product company yesterday too - their advice/recommendation was that it was a matter of choice to use the product, and would benefit vehicles not using a fully synthetic oil, unless oil changes are changed according to extended service periods, 12K - 18K intervals, for example.

An additional telephone call to Lubetech confirmed all of your comments, and the product is not advised with quality synthetic oils.

That sorts that query for me then.

As a side note, the BG244 fuel cleaner, does work. Noticeable effects where experienced after a couple of weeks - smoother running, less fluctuation in mpg readings on dash, and further miles between fill ups.
It's not cheap though at around £20 - £24 per can dependent on where you buy from.
The garage i bought it from said that they get a fair few taxi drivers buying the stuff, when they have their vehicles serviced at the garage, and feedback is good

Give HH a call and ask for some fuel additive called Tunap also is recommended by Honda
