Hi
Have got to install new ignition key lock because the old one just locked and wouldn't turn.

Need to take out a mortgage to buy from Honda????

New lock comes with new keys but not the same as my old ones which were remote keys where I was able to press one of three buttons on the fob to lock/unlock the car.

I am told that I will have to get the new keys programed.

Is there an app I can use on my android phone to do this.

I have two apps at present : Torque and CarScanner to read any faults on the engine but they don't seem to be able to do the re-programming

I have got a Veepeak OBDCheck VP11 pluged into the car.

Many thanks for any help

Disclaimer - I've not tried this myself

It looks like you can reprogram keys in HDS (Honda Diagnostic System - the software that Honda dealerships use to diagnose/program cars) according to some videos/websites I found - e.g.
- doubt there's an android app but you can get a cheap HDS-compatible (chinese clone) cable from Ebay - the software that comes on the disc needs Windows XP so you need an old laptop. Its possible to get it working on newer OS but you need to look for a newer version etc etc I won't get into that on here.

If you're unsure, a local Honda specialist with HDS should be able to help you

@F6HAD on here can probably help, he has HDS but he's far from you

Hi btjtaylor

Thanks for your reply.
Good video but I couldn't keep up with it!!
Local Honda can help but at £70+ for a five minute job, I think it is a bit steep.
Many thanks

Just been looking online for a cheaper alternative to Honda prices.
A number of sites are selling a part number 35100SDAA71 which they say fits my car. The Honda part number in the uk for the car is 35100SEAE11
Has anyone had to replace their ingnition lock. If so what did you do and where did you buy.

If you went to a second had dealer, did you have any problems with getting the the keys to switch the engine on.
