The rear boot door closes fine, but the light on the dashboard remains on indicating the boot is open. I can't seem to locate where the contact is made in the boot for the light to go out. I ended up with a flat battery last week, and RAC sold me a new battery £110 as they said mine was not holding a charge above 40 amps. What he couldn't see at the time was the bulbs in the boot were draining the battery. Because the car thinks the boot is open, I can't use the remote to lock the car, it unlocks the car fine and unlocks the boot too,but will not lock from the fob, so I have to use a key and when I do the alarm keeps going off, inconsistently. Any ideas?

Sorry it is the 2.2 cdti 7 gen tourer. In addition the two metal plates on the boot floor, one has popped out, is there a knack to refitting it? This has been out for 6 months so is unrelated.
