hi there,i decided to change my rear brake pads today, turns out my driver side rear caliper is seized,i never even noticed, what the chances the passenger side is seized aswell,im of to the scrapyards on a hunt, hopefully i can pick one up,anyone elses accord calipers seize on them, is this common.

Why do you say the calliper is seized? It wears the pads more from one side than on the other?

If so, two things can happen, wither the brake hose is bad, not letting the oil to go back, or you have problems in the calliper....

I also had this problem on mine, it turned out to be the calliper. I decided to repair it my self and it got ok, no more abnormal pad wearing. The calliper rebuild is basically replace the inner piston o-ring which is responsible for pull back the piston when you stop braking...

thanks for your help, well when i turned the brake calper clockwise for about 10 mins, it wasnt going anywhere,it just kept turning, and i noticed there was brake fluid weeping out of the nipple,so i think the caliper is broken, thanks for the offer stuart im waiting for word back from my local breakers, ill see what price they give me,ill let you know thanks

well had another go at my brakes today, this time i used a g clamp to push the piston, and turned the piston at the same time with a plumbers pliars, and it worked, so ive got the piston wound back now,so i check the sliding pins and they are seized they wont budge, any advice on of to free up the pins.
