Hi all

After a service, it was recommended I fit new rear shoes, pads and drums to my 2006 ctdi Tourer.
I bought the following

I've installed the drivers side shoes, the adjuster has been stripped cleaned a greased, the handbrake adjuster has been wound right off under the armrest console, but the drums just wont go on.

As you look at the brake ***embly and try to feed the drum on, it's as though the drum will fit on at the 7 o'clock position but not the 1 o'clock position. All spring are in the right place.

Anyone any ideas?

Many thanks

Try the original shoes to see if the paterned/new DIH (drum-in-hat) is correct. If it struggles to fit on the old shoes, take it back.
Also, it shouldn't need new shoes because it's a parking brake so they don't wear, only the disc on the DIH wears.

Thanks Freddofrog

The rear shoes are almost to the metal. The car has 99k miles on it. I'll try the new drum on the passenger side with the old shoes on later if it stops raining :)
