Rear offside brake rubbing

I was driving to work this morning and a loud humming noise started, not a bearing noise but louder. I stopped at work and checked all wheels and found the rear offside wheel and disc were scorching! I have been told there are possibly vsa issues... The warning lights are still off. Could it be something simpler?
