rear seat not releasing

hi guys

hoping you can help me with passenger side rear seat not releasing

the lever you pull to release has no cable resistance and I have traced the cable as far as I can

its obviously disengaged from the other end but I cant see any way to get at it

ive climbed in the back with a torch but cant even see the other end it connects to!

I suppose I'm going to have to remove the seat but how do you do this?

I presume it's the Tourer ?
See if there's a way round the problem by looking at the other seat

nah its the saloon
had a look round the seats and there seems to be no access to the release mech

^ I didn't know that the saloon has split rear seats that tilt forward
anyway my car is a Tourer, so I can't help
