Anyone know how easy/difficult it is to remove the rear seats on a 2004 tourer

many thanks Paul

Hi Paul if it’s like my 8th gen saloon it’s very easy.
If you lay the back of the seats flat there is 1 bolt in the centre of the seats at the back towards the boot.
Also there are 2 plastic clips at the front of the 2 main seat panels underneath.
Go careful with these as there easy to snap.
Once uncliped just lift the hole seat out.
I had this out last year to change the petrol fuel filter.

Thanks Brett, does yours have the gas ram that tilts the rear seat base forward when you pull the back rest down

cheers Paul

No don’t have that Paul in mine.
Perhaps it’s only on the tourer so might be slightly different to the saloon.
I’m sure some of the tourer members will add to my comments.

Did you ever find out about this? I'm in need of a bit extra boot length in my tourer to fit a 2m long cupboard in there, thinking that if i took out the seat bases and slid the front seat forward that would do me ok. question is, how easy is it to remove and refit the seat base?
