I have a 2004 Honda Vtec 2.0 Exec Auto. The radio has 8 speakers, 2 at the front, a speaker in each of the 4 doors and two at the rear. The two at the rear are not working. I have checked all the radio settings etc and it is not this. Can anyone offer advice or provide a wiring diagram?

Welcome to TA Ian have you checked the connections are sound. Also what have you got a saloon or tourer.

Thanks Brett. I have checked the connections on the rear speakers and they look OK. It is a saloon with the 6 In CD radio.

I was wondering if the rear speakers have their own connection from the radio or if they run off the rear door speaker connection?

you do realise that the parcel shelf speakers are only for bass. so they don't play mid range or treble.

they probably work just fine its just they are not full range speakers so the sound sounds like it is coming from elsewhere.

2 tweeters on the dash, 4 mid range speakers in the doors and 2 bass speakers on the shelf = 8 speakers.

put some dance music on and crank it up and see if the parcel shelf vibrates and rattles. if it does you know they work.

Thanks Crespo

I had no idea about the speaker configuration. I have just gone out and cranked it real loud and they do work!

Many thanks for your help, this has been bugging me for months.

No problem pall. You may not notice them but you certainly do when they are disconnected. Think of them as stealth speakers.

I knocked the cable off one of mine when i had my boot full one day and the loss of bass was quite dramatic.
