Hi can anyone advise me on remapping on a 2.0 petrol? How much does it cost and what are the gains (is it worth it)? Ive notice that most Accord owners on here have diesel engines, but wheres the love for the petrol engines?! Thanks

Abdul, there may be something in the pipeline with XO tuning but it's still work in progress as far as I'm aware.

As a tuner myself, all I can say is keep your expectations realistic. If your car is normally aspirated, even with a Vtec, the best you can hope for is sharper throttle, higher rev limiter and some in gear torque through advanced timing. The gains on NA cars are quite limited, but for most people still pleasing.

The reason the diesel cars are so popular for tuning is due to the fact they are turbocharged and any forced induction car will always get a fantastic gain..

Thanks for that Fahad. Pls keep me posted if you find out any info on the XO tuning. nice one

As Fahad has said be realisitic..the 2.0 is a mild engine and in that respect doesn't produce the larger results that the 2.4 gives...have you had petrol cars remaped before ...and mmore importantly what are YOU expecting from a remap? and have you any other engine mods?

you may also look at my remap review in the DIY and review section..but bear in mind it's for a 2.4

Hi Fahad, if you hear anything about anyone being able to remap my 3ltr petrol baby, let me know please xxx

Becci, best have a chat with Gunther at XO Power - or drop Alnug a PM to get some info.

xo is a cany treck for most people on here as it is the other end of newcastle-upon-tyne. its not too far from me tho. i'v heard alot of mixed reviews about the company also. but to be fair you do nearly any company! they also dont have a rr at the present time either.

^^^ From my experiance XOpower were great when doing my remap, despite problems i was looked after and kept informed all the way, an im very pleased with the end result. additionally you do not actually need to go to the premises if you can live without your car for a few days or a week you could send the ECU to them.

you're going to get good and bad reports from companies...especially small specialist companies like these. i think most of the time it's a people to people interaction thing...some people get along some don't. No doubt sometimes things do go wrong and it's these occasions where the negative feedback gets spread like wildfire. The so called tuning business is cut throat...if you can't hack it or don't have the knowledge you'll get sussed pretty soon and won't last long, being in the game for more than a decade must stand for something ;), if it seems like I'm singing their praises, i guess I am  ,but the guy's done nothing but bend over backwards to help and that's not just for what he's done for my cars.....maybe we just get along.

The rolling road will be in in 3 weeks or so :D

Dan did you pop next door while you were there ;)
