Reversing sensors

Hi all, I am going to fit reverse sensors but the kit specifies that if the car has Can bus I need to fit a relay. My question please. Has my Accord got Can bus?

This is a part of the advert.


Technical parameters:

  • Power: 3.6W

  • Rated voltage: 12V Dc

    [SIZE=small]( You may need to fit a relay to get power from ignition and using reversing light [/SIZE]
    [SIZE=small]as switch only for some newer CANBUS cars as they can not provide 12v power [/SIZE]

well the car does have CANbus but there's a lot of interpretation about the details of what this includes according to the car make and model and year.

If I were you I would use a relay as it says, so that the reversing kit is kept entirely separate from the rest of the car electrics (in effect this is what happens when caravan electrics are hooked up)

Weird... My reverse light provided the needed 12v to activate my reverse light
 
I have Dolphin sensors fitted and they are wired to the reversing light power.
The ones that connect to the canbus are for the front so that the sensors only come on when you ar travelling below about 5 mph. They pick that info up from the canbus.

I have sensors in the front, connected to ignition 12v. Easiest way to connect it

Brian, can you help clarify the canbus set up for pre and post facelift 7th gen?
The reason why I ask is I used to have a BMW, with canbus, which meant any LED upgrades to bulbs meant that an LED refit had to have a resistor built into bulb.
But the Honda Accord does not let you know if a bulb has blown does it?
What canbus set up benefits are there to owners? Thanks.
If the front sensors can be fitted to work off speedo below 5mph (standard trigger speed for front sensors, I think), this is mod worth considering, asthere would be no need for upsetting the interior space with aftermarket switchgear.

I wish I could, but no difference is described on the Honda DVD, and anyway, as you say, the 7th gen pre-facelift does not let you know if a bulb has blown (AFAIK the facelift doesn't either, but I could be wrong on that).

CANbus benefits to owners = bit fat zero as far as I can think ....it seems to be there mainly to conform to some US requirements
 
Thanks anyway, and no the facelift doesn't either, nothing mentioned in the manual anywhere.
