Hi all

recentley noticed an oil leak down the side of the engine on my 2.2ctdi Tourer-04. Looks like its coming from the rocker gasket on the car (quite hard to find it at first!). Looked at the cost of a new gasket which in itself isnt that bad and dont want to pay local dealer prices.

It looks easy enough to replace but wanted to check whether its simply a case of removing the bolts, taking the rocker off, fitting new gasket and bolting back on???

Im not exactly skilled but have managed to replace a fuel filter on this a month or 2 ago thanks to this forum

advice would be appreciated

If its the same as older Hondas, only done d and b series engines up until now

Then it should be just remove the cam cover and replace the gasket and retorque up :)

Yep agree this can't be to hard of a job.
Just make sure you buy a genuin Honda one and make sure all of the old gasket is off and is nice and clean.
Also very important get the correct torque setting i will try and find it for you.

This.

mmm think you might want to rethink that one as you will have to pull the injectors out on the I-CTDI and thats not an easy job.

cheers mate

I'll have a look when I get home and try and find some info for you

You will defo have to pull the injectors you can check on lings parts you can see where the injectors go through the cam cover and it shows you the main cover seal and the cover seals that go around the injectors ive looked at this my self as at some point ive got to do my cam chain and oil pump chain so the cam cover will have to come off you may be lucky and the injectors may come out with little trouble but from what i know about this job i woudunt bet on it youll need an injector extraction tool which is a bit like a slide hammer and youll need to be careful as if you snap them its around £400 to replace 1 injector if the leaks not that bad id leave it.

Its not leaking massively so i think its too risky to try- ill get some Gunk for the engine and keep topping up!!!
