Satnav install problem ?

05 i-CTDi EX Tourer
Hi.

I can't seem to get the new disc to install, or something..

I have done the "Force Download" also, but when I go in to the settings it still say 2.09.

Why is this?? :/

Just a question is the new disk a genuin nav tech disk or a copy ?
Also what version is the new disk
 
I got two "copies" for my 54 tourer, neither of them worked, to be fair though both companies returned my money, and even after emails informing me how to do the upgrade I had no joy. Eventually one of them admitted that their product does not always work on some 7th gen's. there is a post about it on here somewhere.

Any one help me find an address for satnavi.com? ordered and received an update disc 2011-2012 v2.11 MAP DVD, TRIED TO LOAD IT BUT IT DOES WORK. I am unable to find an address of any kind on their web site, or am I doing something wrong??

Sorry can't help with the contact but did you Google about them before ordering? I only ask because I thought they were DVD-Rom killers?

No I did not I thought they would be ok. I have now found an address for them, and will very likely ask for my money back. Thanks.

They might be okay, I think it's down to the quality of the actual disk more than the copy itself.

FAILED TO WORK, was shown how to do a forced download by them, still no joy, they will refund my money stating that some of the "older" v2 units do not like to update. Worth a try though.

I have the older unit in the FRV, and got an update disc from someone on ebay.. works fine.

Aaaah does that mean that for my 7th gen sat nav I need an update disk that starts with version 2.xx? and not 3.xx?

I'm glad I asked...Thanx mate. Now I need to find a 2xxxx disc... anyone have any discs newer than 2005? I'll check what version number I have later...

It's a copy disc. V2.11.
It reads the disc, and download, but can't see any changes.. It works with the new disc in it, loading maps and everything...

Very strange.
My previous disc is also a copy.
 
There's 2 versions, one for voice recognition, and one without, make sure you order the correct one. ;)
 
Yes I got the correct one. :)
 
If its a copy then its probably the cause.
 
I don't think that the maps has changed either.. Yes, visually it looks the same.
