SatNav/Media system software update

Hi,
Currently I'm running the original 2008 version of the sat nav software dvd in my accord. Does anyone know if a newer disc would also update the software used for items such as navigating cd tracks etc on the sat nav screen as currently this looks a little dated.
I noticed also on the new civic models the rear view camera displays yellow distance lines. Would this possibly also come with the latest dvd?

No it doesn't update the software, just the map detail.

Can honda dealers do an update of the software?

I thought I'd read that the later disc does upgrade the sat nav software also, but as I dont have sat nav I cant confirm. I guess speaking to your local dealer would be best to clarify.

I have heard using non genuine discs (off Ebay etc) can make the DVD drive fail also?
