I have a 2010 Honda Accord Tourer IDTEC 2.2 Type S with satnav.

The satnav was working fine up until recently but I fear I have now bricked it!

I tried putting the disc in the unit but it said "please wait. Upgrading software" then after a bit it said "please check the disc".

It now does this every time I put the disc in (original disc). It also says the same even if there's no disc in.

I do have a horrible feeling it might be dead. I've tried disconnecting the battery but this makes no difference.

I've been sent the following by a company I found on ebay:

We can repair those unit but the cost is £300.00 including vat and return postage, repair takes approx 5 to 7 days.

Does anybody have any suggestions please?

I'm not desperate to get it fixed or replaced as I can use satnav on my phone but would like it sorted. Any repair service seems very expensive and a new satnav is ridiculously expensive. I would consider any repair or replacement options.

Thanks for taking time to read this.

Thanks Fahad. I don't think it's just a disk read error but I will contact him anyway. He may well be able to fix it for cheaper than £300 anyway.

What errors were you getting and have you received the unit back fixed yet?

Cheers

Charlie

Disc read error and no not yet as I only sent it today but had a good chat with him and he has perfect feedback on eBay

Don't suppose you know his eBay Id please? I ***ume it's not the same person who has quoted me £300 (carhifi services)

That's great. Will get in touch with him to get a quote. Thanks for your help! Will post on here the outcome.
