Hey guys

I have been informed that there are many Accord owners in my neck of the woods (cambridge) and was wondering if any of you had used John Banks for servicing? They quoted me £210 for oil/filter change. Is that about right? Seems steep.

Honda garages offer a "Spring Service" oil & filter change for £140 - I've just had one.

Paul... these cars are very simple and rewarding to do yourself... have you considered DIY?

Yes, I've used them. They're OK - not outstanding, but not dreadful either. If you do use them don't go into the main premises on Newmarket Road because the service dept is actually located in Cheddars Lane (next to Tesco).

As Dan said why not have a go yourself. These are easy cars to do an oil and filter change on. If you need any help PM me as I too am in Cambridge (more or less).

I managed to do my second oil and filter change at the weekend, and I'm an idiot!

Jacking it up was the hardest part.

Oh, and pouring the old oil out of a washing up bowl into a funnel.

My car is due servicing too. I'm thinking of ordering the parts from HH Stoke and then doing it myself!
