Hi guys/girls

I'm on the hunt for a 7th gen petrol 2.0 accord, but haven't been able to see the servicing requirements set out in detail anywhere.

I have searched the forum but apologies if I have missed them.

I know servicing should be every 12,500, but am trying to find out what needs doing and when besides the oil/oil filter changes.

If anyone could provide the info or point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Rob

Hmm.... there will be a service schedule with the car, but generally for the 2.0, it's half/full service every 12.5 / 25 K miles,

E.g.

12.5 - half
25.0 - full
37.5 - half
50.0 - full
.
.

The half is the usual oil + filter and check-up
The full is oil + filter + air + sparks and check-up

Brake fluid every 2/3 years, MTF at 75K miles, but I do every 37.5K. Coolant after 10 years. Can do the valve-adjustment at 75K also.

That's pretty much it.

Thanks for the info. The cars are all a fair distance from me so am trying to get a handle on how they have been serviced before I travel!

The cars i'm looking at are around 80-100k miles, do you think it matters if they haven't had the valve-adjustment done?

They all have stamped service books at intervals of 12.5k, but very few invoices to go with it.

They are all auto too, is it the same advise for changing the fluid?

I'll be giving it a full blown service as soon as its in my ownership but want to make sure its not going to suffer from past neglect in that respect.

The ATF should also be done at 75K miles. If it has 80K miles and hasn't been done, it's not the end of the world, just get it done. Also, the valve-adjustment is more of a tune-up than a must have.

Really the 2.0 petrol is pretty bomb-proof if the oil and filter has been done.

For the Auto check and make sure that the gearbox shift are smooth and that it selects reverse and D cleanly without a clunk or drag. The Autobox is pretty good in these also.

Ah that's good to know then, thanks very much for the advice.

How much should I expect to pay for a 03/04 plate 2.0 executive auto? The ones i'm going to look have done 80k-100k and have FSH and 12m MOT.

Parkers says £2.4k for a private sale in good condition at that mileage...

Cheers

Can't help there, I'm in Ireland and you'll pick one up here for about €2K euro! They seem to be marginally more in the UK.

Actually all the tourers and autos imported by Honda into Ireland were EX spec. If they are a lower spec then they were brought from the UK.
