Hi Guys

I am having to remove the front suspension upper arm and to remove the two bolts fixing it, I have to remove the shock absorbers to do this as they prevent me from removing them.

Instead of using spring compressors to help remove the shocks I thought I could undo the three nuts off the studs in the engine compartment holding the mounting unit in place and withdraw the whole shock ***embly which would make life simpler.

However, having undone the nut and expecting it to just drop down the unit will not budge even with a lot of banging.

Should it come away or is mine corroded on or something.

Any help appreciated.

Hi, there are a few vids on youtube showing this being done by just removing the bolts at the top mounting plus the strut brace.

Hi roadrider 75

thanks for a quick reply.

I'll have alook and see what I am doing wrong.

Many thanks

Easy when you know how!!!

I didn't undo the two strut brace nuts.

Just as well I had to replace the shock, it was really weak. It didn't show up whilst driving which was surprising. Did both to make sure.

Thanks again
