Speaker upgrade

Hi,

I was thinking of upgrading the 6x9 speakers in my 2005 Accord Diesel and was wondering how hard would it be?

Can I buy some plug and play plugs so that they plug in or is it a case of cutting the old wiring and connect the new speaker up?

No one care to direct me in the right direction?

Do I need any new adaptors for the 6x9 or will they be a straight fit thinking alpine/vibe?

Also what speakers go in the front/rear door cards?

Okay so am I right in saying that the front/rear door card speakers are 5.5"?

The parcel shelf 6x9 speakers look simple to change so will be going for Vibe slicks or Alpine B)

I don't think just changing the parcel shelfs would add more bass. It is the input to them which needs upgrading. They are 40W max bass only speakers. They do produce good bass at high volumes, but at low volumes they don't have enough oomph.

Recently one of the local mobile audio fitters was around to replace the burst fron door speakers in my other car which is a Toyota Avensis. He saw the set up in Accord and suggested adding a small amp to the same bass speakers to make them work better at low volumes. £65 fitting charge.

The door speakers are all 13.5 cm or 5.5". You can always check at the pioneer EU website and do a model search. However, you will need adaptors to fit aftermarket speakers, I think Honda Civic adaptors fit.

The feed to the parcel shelf is bass only or low frequencies. This is what the set up in EX is, I don't know about Type R. In Type S and basic models, the feed is full range which is definitely better.
