Hi all, I have not owned my Accord very long and it seems the last two owners used the spoiler to open and close the boot as the spoiler is a bit loose. This is one of the first jobs I wanted to attend to, so I got my socket set out and proceeded to try and tighten a quite corroded bolt!! it moved a bit but not much then all the resistance went and to my horror I realised I had just sheared the thread in half :( At first I thought this was a threaded bolt that screwed into the spoiler but the next day I sprayed the bolt behind the broken one with loads of WD40 (something I should have done in the first place when investigating the first bolt  ) and gently loosened this and took it off I then realised that the thread is in the spoiler itself and is just held on by four dome nuts. So my question is; is the thread in the spoiler easy to remove/replace or is it moulded in to the spoiler. Hope this all makes sense any help/advice would be much appreciated. Cheers Martin

I recently bought a spoiler for my Accord, and one of the bolts was broken.

I decided to drill a hole in the rest of the bold with a 3mm drill and then with a 5mm.
After that, I bought a M6 tap drill and made a new thread. It worked like charm :)

I still have to replace all other 3 nuts, they are way too rusty...
