The alarm backup battery finally died. Got the alarm out by removing the subwoofer, taking a flash photo of the installation, and unbolting the Cobra unit from there. No need to remove all the panels like a lot of people say on here.
I thought about replacing just the 6 250BVH Ni-MH cells, but the shrink wrapped full replacement sells for little over same amount. Also, larger Ni-MH cells are much cheaper, and I would prefer a larger backup, but I cannot find much info on the current regulation in the charging system of the Cobra unit, so 250mAh it will have to stay. If anyone has DYI'd something like that, they haven't posted about it online.
I need to use the car before the battery arrives, and I want the red blinkenlight in the dashboard when I park, so a bit of reading on Cobra alarms in general, and I saw that other Cobra units actually work with the backup battery removed.
So I tried that, and this is the case with the Accord alarm as well.
I then used this eleven year old post on Typeaccord to reset the alarm. Brilliant.

Anyway, 2 things learned. One only has to remove the subwoofer to repair the alarm, and it works without a backup battery, as a temporary fix.
PS. Wrap the.alarm unit in a blanket white you do the reset. Then bolt in back in place.

Reset alarm
Hello I haven't used my car for a couple of weeks. I went to move it and couldn't unlock with the fob. I opened the door with the key to pop the bonnet to charge the battery. Now as soon as I connect the battery the alarm goes off. I can't seem to stop it even though I can lock unlock with...
