The front bumper and the lip/spoiler

Hi guys

A few weeks ago we had some really cold nights and on the 1 morning we had ice so bad it was like glass! I was on my way to work at 6am and even though I was taking it very very easy down the hill I lost control of the car

I went sliding along the road straight into a low wall and cracked the right side of the bumper. It was a big crack and not pretty, we had a mate do a quick plastic weld job so it could still be driven with no danger of wind ripping it apart. However I have struggled to find a replacement in the time since. The main dealer is a stealer, an absolute joke...price-wise!

My query is will any normal bumper from 7th gen Accords fit the Type S? I'm pretty certain the spoiler/lip does not need replacing as no cracks or major damage, when the respraying is done the lip will be sorted as well. Although if I could find both for sale at a good price I would get them. How do the lips fit onto the bumper though? Can I take the current one off and easily put it onto any new bumper I get or is it a specific bumper/lip for stock Type S?

Thanks to anyone who reads this and if anybody also has somewhere to recommend to get a bumper from I would be much grateful! Ebay has a few decent examples so if it doesn't have to come from a Type S to fit ours then happy days!

Also in case some may wonder why we haven't gone through the insurance...excess was ridiculous!

The lip is held in place with bolts and screws. The petrol bumper 'should' be interchangeable design wise, but the diesel won't fit.

So would a bumper from a standard 2.0 Accord fit our Type S and also take the bottom spoiler?

Is there a facelift to the 7th gen accords that affects the bumpers and front spoilers? The guy in the link I posted above is certain my spoiler won't fit on his bumper as mine is pre-facelift (mine is a 54 reg 2003 ) is this true?

2006 onwards is a facelift and will fit if it came complete but won't take the type s lip?, anything pre-facelift (except diesel) should fit and take your lip spoiler.

Wait for someone to confirm before you hit the buy it now button But I'm pretty sure you'll be ok with any pre-facelift petrol bumper.

My Sister has an '07 Civic and she cracked a bumper as well. Rang up the Honda dealer to ask how much a replacement bumper was - just for a laugh you understand - "£140" he said and then added "But I need the colour code of the car Sir, as they are supplied pre-painted and lacquered". Seems Honda MAD prices just apply to us poor Accord owners.
