Hello all

I have just purchased some thule roof bars foot pack and fitting kit for my 2006 accord tourer. The car does not have fiited rails so i purchased the 754 foot pack 961 rails and the fitting kit via halfords website. I was having difficulty fitting the front bar and footpack one side did not secure correctly so i went along to halfords to there we fit it department and they had the same issue. They think the bar is to short but dont recomend another as this is appently the correct one.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this or have purchased this kit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I had 120cm square bars on mine, with the older (but functionally identical) 750 foot pack.

You don't mention which fitting kit you've got (the bit that actually touches the car) I had the 1324 kit (actually for sale if anyone needs one http://r.ebay.com/1HN5LU ;) ).

The 140 and 141 rubber pads are handed and have to fit the right way round, and the front to back location of the bar on the roof has some bearing on how well it fits as the roof tapers a bit. Also I had to tweak the suggested foot to foot separation distance a little. It never looked spot on visually, but once tightened it never budged -even with an 8x4 sheet of ply strapped on.

Isn't there a indented section in the roof / door aperture to show you where the grippy bit of the fitting kit is supposed to locate (or that might only be on the back?) I've not got the 7th Gen now or I'd take some pictures for you. I'd have missed that, but careless handling by the previous owner meant these areas were highlighted by extensive scratching!

This is what it looked like on the car...
